Sunday Biggest Derailed Day Ever - Turkey Fryer Fires #1

Our readership peaked Sunday to an absolutely all time incredible high number of visitors. We run posts covering everything under the sun from sex and corrupt politicians and turkey fryer fires are #1.

Even the drunk ex-mayor's sleepover didn't compare.

Nothing like watching others cook for entertainment.

Contract It Out to China

"A Chinese contact tipped off the U.S. Embassy in Beijing that China’s Politburo OK'd a huge effort to hack into and eavesdrop on Google computers as part of a nearly decade-long cyber-sabotage effort aimed at American companies and supporters of the Dalai Lama."

You have many enemies in a single party system. The local dominant political party, City Hall, the Official Ministry of Disinformation on South Main, etc. the list is long.

Much as Senator Courtney rants against shipping jobs to China, what about the job of shutting you down? Do you think our local dictatorial oligarchy would have any qualms about hiring the Chinese Communists to attack your web site?

Courtney is a like neutered dog. He's got it, seen it, knows what he wants to do with it but it doesn't work. Chinese agents are way beyond his skill set.

British 'Tea Party' On Woes of EU

"“We don’t want that flag, we don’t want the anthem, we don’t want this political class,” Farage said. “We want the whole thing consigned to the dustbin of history.”

“Just who the hell do you think you people are? You are very, very dangerous people indeed,” he said. “Your obsession with creating this Euro-State means that you’re happy to destroy democracy. You appear to be happy for millions and millions of people to be unemployed and to be poor. Untold millions must suffer so that your Euro-Dream can continue.”

..“If you rob people of their identity, if you rob them of their democracy, then all they are left with is nationalism and violence. I can only hope and pray that the euro project is destroyed by the markets before that really happens.”

Long Decades Journey Into Absurdity

published: 11/22/2010
1928-2010 The funeral service for.................

"Awbrey, in what might be called a tongue-in-cheek explanation, wrote that one reason for the name change was that "The Burlington Hawk-Eye Gazette" was "a mouthful ... an awkward, cumbersome title - such wordiness offends newspapermen and readers alike." "The second consideration is that there are 56 Gazettes now published daily in the United States," so the name had little distinction to it."

50 years have passed. Back then, somebody knew what they were doing. Time to change the name again, only this time to conceal the incompetents.

USPS Bleeding

As usual the postal service is a mess and much of the problem is the union that wants to protect people from layoff after six years of service and of course wants to rob the taxpayer for more wages. Here’s the story: Incoming Postmaster General Taking Over Mail Service in Disarray

It’s just too bad that Ronald Reagan isn’t around to solve the problem of greed with the post office unions and it’s management. Allowing unions to infiltrate government is insane and proves itself constantly; so why are these unions still in government? The post office and its unions have proven itself time and time again to be inept and incapable of running a business and/or turning a profit.

Take a look at what government pays for someone to stuff paper in a box. How can the postal service employees get a COLA increase when Social Security hasn’t given the old folks a COLA increase for two years because the Obama regime says there’s no inflation to justify COLA increases. Well, that just goes to show how Obama caters to the unions and damns everyone else that doesn’t donate to democrat’s, that’s my guess.

I bet there isn’t a paperboy alive that earns that kind of money for basically performing the same job a postal carrier does. By the wages it would appear that a postal worker earns enough money to require a master’s degree in box stuffing. Who would ever think a person delivering mail would earn such a gross salary but of course it has nothing to do with merit nor responsibility but everything to do with longevity a typical union ploy to keep getting taxpayer money for nothing but greed.

If the carriers are earning such large pay I wonder what the management is stealing from the taxpayer? I guess it’s no different than what congress steals from us for doing nothing but making our lives miserable every time they’re in session.

Give Thanks

We have more to thankful for than a loosened belt and non stop football on the television this Thanksgiving Day. Technology and deregulation of broadcasting has thankfully allowed the freer flow of information.

Locally, you and others have brought much to light. What was never seen between the advertising can be hidden no more. Turkeys who did not deserve our confidence voted upon them have been exposed and disposed of.

A new year with no Heland approaches. Our County Board will be totally free of those lacking an understanding of wisely allocating limited resources. Picking the majority clean to enrich an organized minority creates little worthy of thanks.

As more become aware through sharing knowledge, insight and opinions, the more we will have to be thankful for.

Many thanks to you and others responsible for what has been accomplished.

T S A Mobile Mass X-Ray Scanner

The Transportation Safety Administration has announced new security measures for rail passengers. All passengers boarding will be x-rayed en mass.

Portable, solar powered, carbon neutral x-ray scanners mandated as homeland security will soon be appearing at all Amtrak stations. Adding a nominal $50.00 to the price of every ticket purchased, the Obama administration is promoting the effort as vital to the administration's security.

No station, no matter how insignificant, will be without such an x-ray scanner. Citizens of Burlington, IA inspect their government's effort to track their every move and thought.

"You're Fired" - From Dr. Strangelove Without Love?

"...if this president can't do what we need, it is time to start looking somewhere else.

Yes, Soros wants another puppet that he can use to control America with. The one he currently uses has a few broken strings and it keeps going on vacation. Also, his old puppet no longer captivates his audience like it did back in 2008."

An opinion piece in Pravda raises a question. Will the Kenyan in Chief's own party dump him?

Dr. Strangelove and an equally absurd cast of characters have their fingers on the party purse strings. If serious opposition to Obama shows up in Iowa, follow the money. Will defeated Des Moines County Supervisors be able to get a staff job with the coup?

"Soros would have done this in Russia but Vladimir Putin is too powerful."

If anybody should know a Marxist when they see one, who better than Putin. Who in America will put an end to the madness of wealthy, Marxist elitists like Soros and friends?

Taxes Editorial in Hawk Eye

I find it very strange that Mr. Troute would think it appropriate to give young people under 30 a free tax ride as stated in his article in Sunday’s Business section of the Hawk Eye.

Why should they deserve any special treatment never granted to those that came before them? Iowans have been paying excessive taxes for years to support a government that awards itself on longevity rather than merit until these government employees are now grossly overpaid and benefitted when compared to those taxed to support them.

It’s these same high taxes that keep industry and other jobs from coming to Iowa. Iowa is a basket case when it comes to taxes both personal and business. Iowa ranks as one of the worst states for starting a business because of the red tape and taxes.

Iowa taxes are detrimental to the retired because it taxes their pensions and their social security regardless of their well being although the social security tax is phasing out those in the past paid the price with no tax breaks at all.

Iowa’s progressive tax deflates initiative in people because the more they make the more they pay intensifying a lower ambition since creating more just increases the taxes paid wiping out possible gains in income.

The solution is to lower the cost of college that’s totally out of line with the real world, with its administrative and educators gross salaries.

Going to college is a choice and not a requirement in my opinion; so let’s just drop this special dispensation from taxes for those under 30. Those on fixed incomes in Iowa need tax breaks because their earning power is over and if those with degrees can’t cope let them leave like plenty of others had to do before them. Not all states are like Iowa, a state that thinks burning the tax candle at both ends makes sense. Most states in economic trouble are democratic and what party controls the purse strings here in Iowa?

As jobs dry up in Iowa more and more Iowans will split for states that have jobs and jobs that pay a living wage where in Iowa this is mostly found in government where over pay is name of the game. Iowa private sector jobs are just a step above welfare wages at best with many not even paying a livable wage such as many of those in Burlington.

Needless to say, I for one don’t agree with Mr. Troute’s solution for solving Iowa’s exodus of young people but would suggest Iowa start by reducing taxes on business and personal income that’s extorted to pay for Iowa’s government unions; so they can remain Iowa’s “privileged class” of citizens.

Railroad Sleuth Misses Mark

I saw that article in the paper where a local history buff thinks he found the remains of the 1800"s B&MR roundhouse under 6th street bridge.

I hate to rain on this archeological find but those railroad ties are left from the stub track that served C&E's warehouses on the south side of the main line.

El Al And TSA Comparison

While much has been written about TSA in the last week and how we should embace El Al's security measure to keep our airplanes safe, you need to keep this in mind.

El Al's anti-terrorist program is the best in the world. Anyone that has flown El All will testify to that. But the costs to train TSA employees, many of whom would not meet El Al's standards, is exorbitant.

El Al's total passenger count for one year is about 3 million passengers.

On Wednesday, 24 million Americans will take to the skies. In one day.

Given Washington's aversion to fixing problems, I can't even imagine how much it would cost.

Ho, Ho, Ethanol No

"Former U.S. vice-president Al Gore said support for corn-based ethanol in the United States was "not a good policy", weeks before tax credits are up for renewal."

The jovial Green Giant of achieving socialism through environmentalism has spoken. Ethanol is a joke.

Ethanol is strictly a creation of public policy. It is not market driven. It is driven by mandate and subsidy. Like Stalin's collectivization of agriculture, converting food to fuel is creating a shortage of food.

Have you been to Hy-Vee lately? Have you noticed what food prices are doing?

The quickest way to collapse a government is create starving peasants. The last Louie of France discovered that lesson the hard way. Those in Washington will probably act quicker to keep the masses in bread so they may keep taking the cake.

When the ethanol policy is changed, woe be to those who invested in it. That includes taxpayers of Des Moines County.

Jolly Green

Al "Cornball" Gore

How can that liar Al Gore still be ripping off the world with his myth based propaganda about global warming? Now he’s at some type of summit over in Athens. Greece has plenty of their own home grown problems without “The Mouth” being over their filling their children full of his lies about global warming.

Gore is like a bad dream that won’t go away playing on people’s fears to earn a living with his myths. What knowledge of science does “The Mouth” have that makes him a spokesman for true science? The closest he’s been to science is political science and to top that off he’s a glutton and waster of energy spending three times the average for his power needs and don’t forget this is the same liar that bought a beach front mansion recently after telling everyone else the oceans were going to rise and ruin all costal homes.

I think Gore should work for the Hawk Eye because they could use a good liar and myth peddler and who knows they could even sell a couple more papers every month. Take a look at what he’s up to now: Report: Al Gore Reverses View on Ethanol, Blames Politics for Previous Support

Gore and his followers are out trying to earn a living off the myth of global warming by brain washing our weak government school system in order to continue lining their pockets off the defenseless school children and ignorant adults.

Senator Rockefeller Wants to Tell You What is Important

Rockefeller wants to do away with Fox and MSNBC news because he doesn’t like the bias. I would prefer that all people running for the congress be required to pass a lie detector test prior to running for office; so we can actually know who they really are and not find out after their elected. The test should be conducted by a professional and the questions asked by a random selection of the general public with all of it recorded live; so the rest of the voting public can be shown his or her true intentions if that’s possible.

If it weren’t for politicians the people would probably get news rather than opinions since no one really knows who they’ve elected because lying is a prerequisite for running for office. The left is probably the worst of the two sides because they’d sell their mother’s in order to advance their socialist agenda.

I wonder why he didn’t say anything about NPR or the Hawk Eye both leftist propaganda machines with one of them supported by our tax dollars; so it should be shut down immediately. We also have the NYT one of the most biased of news organizations known to man and he didn’t say a word about that piece of trash on paper.

We should also put time limits on how long a campaign can last, six months seems appropriate to me because the public is sick of listening to all the lies and bull s___ by both sides of the spectrum constantly year after year. We also need term limits because congress was never intended to be a career by the founders. It’s gotten to the point that these scum bags seem to think they are owed the job regardless of their performance and crookedness. Many of them have turned out to be nothing but wards of the taxpayer whom they live off of.

Everyone knows politicians basically only represent themselves and their wallets otherwise our nation wouldn’t be in the mess it is now brought about by the congress and the White House starting in 2007 when the democrats took over both houses driving our country into bankruptcy with their leftist doctrine. Who profited most from Fannie and Freddy, I’d suggest you look to the left side of the isle for the answer to that one.

The only reason NPR exist is because it’s tax supported otherwise it would have dried up years ago and withered from the vine as do most left driven outlets that travel the airwaves.

Rockefeller should move to Cuba or someplace where freedom of speech is denied if that’s what he wants and I’d suggest he take the Hawk Eye staff with him for good measure.

Bored in Burlington

"A Denver firefighter was forced to resign, and a female city employee fired, after they were caught on videotape using Denver International Airport's state of the art, $2.5 million mobile command post for sexual escapades."

We have not had an entertaining moral lapse from our local public sector for too long. Yawn.

Drunk driving can be dangerous. Besides, calling for a ride home denies the details being made public at a trial. A sex scandal is safer.

Unlike alcohol, sex is organic, pure and natural. You could say a sex scandal is politically correct green. There is usually a minimal expense of tax payer proceeds with a sex scandal.

Expensive mental lapses in our local public sector have even been down. No Manor Mall appears looming. Dougie's Depot City Hall is off the radar. Are our local entertainers scared to perform with a depression depressing tax revenues?

If anybody knows of anything to liven up the approaching cabin fever season, please tell Spike.

Young Boy strip searched by TSA (Original w/ Full Story Description)

"Lets get the facts straight first. Before the video started the boy went through a metal detector and didn't set it off but was selected for a pat down. The boy was shy so the TSA couldn't complete the full pat on the young boy. The father tried several times to just hold the boys arms out for the TSA agent but i guess it didn't end up being enough for the guy. I was about 30 ft away so i couldn't hear their conversation if there was any. The enraged father pulled his son shirt off and gave it to the TSA agent to search, thats when this video begins.

***Insertion of what happened after the video (full story)****

After I finished videotaping the incident I went through the check point myself. I collected my things and put myself in hand and went over to talk to the father and son. Before I could get to them a man in a black suit who had been talking with TSA officials approached me. He asked if he could speak with me and I told him that I would. He then proceeded to basically interrogate me about why I was videotaping the procedures of the TSA. I told him that it looked like an interesting situation and that I had not seen a situation like it before so I thought it would be good to get on tape. He then questioned me some more and wonder what I had planned for the video. I told nothing at this point. He asked me repeatedly to delete the video from my phone, but also stated he could not demand me to. I told that I was going to do that. At this point it became obvious that he felt TSA had done something wrong and that I caught it on tape. After finishing talking to this man I left for my gate. I called my brother who told me I should put the tap on youtube because it sounded like an issue people would want to see. About 15 minutes after arriving at the gate and talking to my brother I noticed 2 TSA agents sitting 15 feet or so away from me. I stood up and moved so that they were in front of me and then took a picture. A 3rd and then a 4th agent came and sat down in similar spots to the others. They would occasionally glance at me and talk on their walkie talkies. I don't know why they were there or if it was a huge coincidence but they stayed for 30-45 minutes and left just before I boarded the plan. Interesting to say the least, intimidating? A little..."

When Does Copyright Become Censorship?

"Among the sites that could go dark if the law passes: Dropbox, RapidShare, SoundCloud, Hype Machine and any other site for which the Attorney General deems copyright infringement to be “central to the activity” of the site, according to Electronic Frontier Foundation, a digital rights group that opposes the bill. There need not even be illegal content on a site — links alone will qualify a site for digital death."

A bill in Congress to protect copyrighted material is moving forward. Critics worry it is so vague, it could make a sword of a law being sold as a shield.

Could a measure to protect the work of those creative be used to protect cretins? Judicial interpretation has made more than one law into a 180 degree turn. Creativity is not limited to the honest.

If the City of Burlington copyrights its web site, is what contained there to be used only with the City's permission? Is government stupidity in the public domain, or is it protected against free speech by copyright infringement?

The free market rewards of those who create must be protected. A quick and sloppy solution to a problem only creates bigger problems. Like the Manor Mall, keep an eye on this internet restriction bill.

Attila the Harkin - Who Does He Represent?

“Talk about class warfare. Republicans are instigating class warfare in this country,” Harkin charged."

Class warfare, divide and rule, Tom Harkin is accusing others of his sins. Tom Harkin is always out to shaft the middle.

Senator Harkin is floating a scam to raid your 401K retirement plan. Harkin's union buddies need the money for their failed retirement plans. Time for the evil rich to "contribute their fair share."

While privileged fat cats sit on corporate boards and are chauffeured around in Gulfstream jets, little people back home have struggle to get by for years. Even State Senator Tom Courtney hired non union labor to remodel his house.

Senator Tom Harkin accusing others of instigating class warfare is like Attila the Hun accusing Rome of breaking the peace.

A One Way Conversation - Democrats Learned Nothing

SEN. JAY ROCKEFELLER (D-WV): "There's a little bug inside of me which wants to get the FCC to say to FOX and to MSNBC: 'Out. Off. End. Goodbye.' It would be a big favor to political discourse; our ability to do our work here in Congress, and to the American people, to be able to talk with each other and have some faith in their government and more importantly, in their future."

The Bill of Rights be damned.

The people's faith in the government must be blind. The ability of government to do as it pleases is so much easier if people are ignorant of what all government is doing. Only information approved by government is essential to unlimited future growth of government.

If Burlington Derailed were shut down and KCPS callers comments limited to critiquing cake recipes, how much happier would our locals in government be? All they only want you to know is the daily bias delivered as ink smeared on pulp. Lots of luck finding it between all the advertising.

We elect leaders in government to serve us. Those like Senator Rockefeller who believe the opposite should be unelected.

Dr. Strangelove's News Service

Today, Washington. Tomorrow, Des Moines. The day after that, Burlington

"As the media -- particularly newspapers -- have fallen on hard times, they have reduced their coverage of the news and created an opening for Soros (and his allies, Herb and Marion Sandler, who have created their own "investigative group" to deliver news, free of charge, to cash-strapped media outlets -- "news" that seems agenda-driven)."

George Soros' sinister disinformation plans are proceeding. National Public Radio (NPR) serving as Radio China International's America service has been documented. Unlike shows during radio's golden era, Dr. Strangelove does not like it known who the sponsor is.

Dr. Strangelove is moving closer to total information control. Dr. Strangelove is targeting disinformation at the state government level. When Dr. Strangelove moves from state capitols to county seats, this may present an opportunity.

The Ad Vertiser's agenda driven journalism would probably meet with Dr. Strangelove's approval. The problem is a shrinking Ad Vertiser is providing ever less of the official agenda. Even at little more than minimum wage, reporters are an expense. Ad Vertising sales staff are an asset.

The Ad Vertiser would be a logical test vehicle for Dr. Strangelove's scheme.

For $100 per year, a Dr. Strangelove front organization could be contracted by the Ad Vertiser to provide reporters and editors. The only differences readers would notice is fewer incoherent stories. The slant would stay the same.

The Ad Vertiser would continue to sell advertising and retain revenues there from. Advertising determines how much "news" space is available. When more space is needed to promote a Soros cause, a Soros controlled company would buy Ad Vertiser ad space.

Today, Washington. Tomorrow, Des Moines. The day after that, Burlington. By the of the decade, one world under Dr. Strangelove. Pay attention, or pay the price.

An uninformed people is easily enslaved.

Viva La Courtney?

"This is nothing more than union busting," said Courtney, a retired auto worker and former president of the Burlington School Board. "We're (his caucus in the Iowa Senate) 1,000 percent behind you."

Does the government have an impartial role in labor disputes? Not if State Senator Tom Courtney has anything to say about it. In 2006, Senator Courtney vowed he would get even with business. At least on that promise, Senator Courtney has been true to his word.

There is nothing illegal about what Roquette America has done concerning employees without a current union contract. If reports are true about Senator Courtney remodeling his house with labor not covered by a union contract, Senator Courtney did not violate the law either.

America has been far more productive than socialist strongholds like France. It maybe a reason Roquette has a facility in Keokuk.

Socialist France has a reputation for cynical hypocrisy and sloth. "I was visiting France when they stopped striking to go on vacation. Luckily, I made it to Germany and caught a plane home," has been grist for comedians.

Turning America and the State of Iowa into a similar socialist workers paradise is no laughing matter. Turning Senator Courtney out of office in two years is serious work that needs doing.

Count Iowa among those losing relative population. The likes of State Senator Tom Courtney make Iowa no place to do business.

Concerning the city that gave rise to Senator Courtney, what will the census figures say about Burlington? If there is an increase, would it be directly related to Burlington's increasing crime and welfare rate?

Iowa will lose a seat in the U. S. House of Representatives. If the Nutty Professor ends up odd man out in the reduction, it would be justice.

Where's the Common Sense? With everything that is going on in the world with economies on fire, out of control debt and the horror stories of people being violated at our airports- all the press wants to do is cover the engagement of Prince William. Meanwhile, here in the real world- something is not right with the TSA story. How is it that the freest country in the history of the world is now subjecting it's citizens to humiliating and intrusive full body scans at airports and violating their constitutional rights? Tonight, the question is: Will you trade your freedom for a little temporary security?

Brian Tapp's Letter of Recommendation

Dear Central Arizona Association of Governments:

I would like to offer our letter of support for Brian Tapp. Mr. Tapp will be a fine Central Arizona Association of Governments Executive Director.

Mr. Tapp is hard working, honest, forthright and extremely competent in all management skills needed to run your county in a professional manner. Mr. Tapp can be trusted to do the right thing, protect your citizens and taxpayers from excess costs while avoiding all litigation that might arise. Reports of sexual harassment cannot be corroborated since the files are sealed so as far as we are concerned that’s really not an issue.

Mr. Tapp will prepare all applications and documents in his timely manner. Even though you will get your grant applications for signature the day they are due, you will have at least 45 minutes to review the terms of those agreements before the Fedex truck shows up. Heck, one time, Mr. Tapp needed a signature from a county supervisor and he got it from the supervisor without the rest of the board. Using his initiative and skill with federal documents, Mr. Tapp got the local ethanol plant a 20-year tax abatement.

Mr. Tapp has no outside activities, does not drink and does not play golf in debilitating excess. Even though he does spend an inordinate amount of time checking his shoes for a proper shine, that adds to his illusion of professional competence.

Mr. Tapp supports regionalism. Even though he set up airport bus transportation from a community in his local airport’s traffic area and funneled it to a regional airport 75 miles away, it is hard to calculate any possible loss of essential air service funding. But the buses are successful and run on time to the Cedar Rapids airport. Someday we hope the flying public will support the Burlington Airport.

Mr. Tapp takes direction well from whoever pays the most money in fees to CAAG and never oversteps his authority. This helps him develop a plan to work with others. He takes criticism well and seeks the opinion from others before he makes any decision that could adversely affect the area without flipping or flopping more than two times.

Contrary to popular opinion Mr. Tapp is not a firebug and will not burn any incriminating audio tapes of closed session meetings even though his association with our former crooked city manager fire bug had some effect on him. Mr. Tapp does not own any magnets and will not tamper with any audiotapes of incriminating closed session meetings. Mr. Tapp does not politicize his office and his staff will work 6 days a week.

Speaking of closed session meetings, Mr. Tapp has told the local newspaper he was very familiar with the Iowa Code regarding closed session meetings. He was so confident of his vast knowledge that he told the State Ombudsman they didn’t need to be investigating open meeting violations, he knew the law.

Mr. Tapp will look for economic development opportunities where others fear to tread. Mr. Tapp reached out to Tyson Foods to promote our city as a bedroom community for a regional meat packing plant. Mr. Tapp’s efforts yielded a new surge of hard working people that needed a job. Even though the criminal element that followed drove an unstoppable crime wave to new heights, the new workers have been able to financially contribute to the soaring need for public services. So it’s been a win-win.

Mr. Tapp will solve regional transportation needs. Tyson foods needed a bus system to haul the new employees to work. Mr. Tapp established a good program to do this. Even though we haven’t been able to review the contracts that spent thousands of taxpayer dollars, it had to be good because Mr. Tapp assured us it is.

Mr. Tapp conducts commercial real estate transactions in a most expeditious manner. If your friend has a building that needs to be sold, Mr. Tapp is your guy. He can take a taxable silk purse and spin it off the tax roles so fast one cares. All he needs is a relative and a clown mayor to help and the property will be tax free.

And if you find a problem with commercial real estate development Mr. Tapp can advise you about the best use of eminent domain and how it is the quick road to commercial development. When Mr. Tapp devised a plan for the city, no one expected the developer to pull out along with his $245,000. Mr. Tapp jumped right on the problem and went forward anyway, nose to the grindstone. Although we hope to some day find a developer and some good families were driven from their homes, we expect good things from his foresight. The $800,000 we pay per year in principal and interest is a good investment in the future.

Mr Tapp likes baseball and the cactus league should benefit from his expertise. He got state money to pay for ballpark improvements and they are great. Even with good attendance we wish Mr. Tapp was still here to help us figure out why the financial promises from the ball team have been below expectation. We’re sure he could help us figure out a better way to do this than have the taxpayers take over payments.

Recreation is another major interest of Mr. Tapp. He will seek state and federal grants to fund to build new bike trails, camping and other recreational activities. Mr. Tapp used his expertise to build rental cabins for visitors. One day these cabins will pay huge dividends in revenue. The naysayers that claimed these cabins will be occupied by underage drinkers is simply unfounded. The cabins haven’t even been rented yet.

You'll find that Brian Tapp is your guy. If you promise to keep Brian Tapp in Arizona for the next 25 years we will throw in the lowest paid and losingest city attorney in the state of Iowa and have our mayor, when he finds his keys, drive him to Arizona at his earliest sobriety.

Thank you for considering Brian Tapp.

Hold Up Man Tom Harkin

"Will the government outlaw your 401(k) plan? It seems like an absurd possibility, yet earlier this month two Democratic senators, Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., held a hearing on Capitol Hill exploring the possibility of doing exactly that."

Will U. S. Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) try a back door bail out of insolvent union pension funds? Where would the money come from?

Investing in Vegas is not paying off like it did for the Central States Teamsters Pension fifty years ago. Like State Senator Tom Courtney, beware when U. S. Senator Tom Harkin starts screaming "fair." "Fair" sounds so much more pleasant than hands up.

Your 401K has money. Will you pay your "fair share" to bail out friends of both Toms?

The lame ducks have hobbled back into Washington. Keep an eye on them. You have nothing to lose but your retirement.

SEIRPC Buses Move to Trousil's Taj Mahal

Any idea where SEIRPC is hiding the Tyson subsidized buses since they aren’t socked away out at the airport anymore? I have a feeling they’ve moved them out to the new SEIRPC Taj Mahal in West Burlington under the pretense of “out of sight out of mind”.

One thing for sure the cost to the taxpayer is still very much alive and will never go away now as long as Tyson and SEIRPC remain in business. We can probably never rid ourselves of SEIRPC because once a tax supported entity is created it never goes away with most of them hiding in the shadows providing services or whatever they do for the grossly overpaid management typical of government run businesses.

SEIRPC and their new Taj Mahal go hand in hand with the standard of government excess, proving again that Iowa is just full to the brim with government overpay, mismanagement, money squandering, over benefited along with no accountability and of course no responsibility other than collecting their privileged lifestyle from the underpaid taxpayers of Iowa.

Iowa needs a tax revolt because we are being taxed to death in order to support government unions and their dimwitted stooges in the state capital.

State Workers

It’s not only federal employees robbing the taxpayer but right here in Iowa it’s the state employees stealing us blind and state government does nothing to stem the rape of the taxpayer.

Human services has a job titled resident treatment worker whose annual pay has a spread of $14.10 per hour up to $20.60 per hour for a annual pay of $29,3280 up to 42,848.00. No special degrees or no degree at all is required for these people many of which are being paid over $79,000 annually.

Instead of this range when overtime is added in they are earning in excess of $100,000 in one case and well over $79,000 in most cases. Readers should go to this site and check out the entire article.

The state is robbing the Iowa taxpayer and it will only get worse because there are no checks and balances in state government along with no accountability or responsibility by management.

Ethanol Exports Feed Traders Tax Credit

The U.S. has surpassed Brazil in ethanol production. As a result, and to line the energy traders' pockets, U.S. ethanol producers are exporting ethanol. The energy traders are capitalizing when the ethanol is blended with gasoline and imported to Europe.

"The US pumps out a record 37m gallons of ethanol a day, easily surpassing rival Brazil’s sugar-based industry in output.

Producers are running out of places to put this ethanol. The US government mandates 12bn gallons in the fuel supply this year, but a decline in American driving and a 10 per cent cap on how much can be blended into motor fuel has created a glut.

The domestic market here in the US is essentially saturated. We are looking for a home for the surplus,” says Geoff Cooper at the Renewable Fuels Association, a US trade group."

The question remains, why should we be providing a tax credit to an artificially stimulated industry that is taking corn and using it to produce a product that an energy trader is making money on and the farmer is getting nothing for.

And just how profitable would this be for Great River if they had to pay their fair share of taxes?

Ethanol is a boondoggle industry on life support.

We have a Congressman with an advance degree who votes like many who can barely read, let alone think. If an elected official can read, can they think as well? What do they think about? Do they simply scheme how to win the next election?

Voters who seek information from various sources, think for themselves and about the future are key. Heland is the latest example of an informed, thinking electorate in action.

More federal workers' pay tops $150,000 - Doubled Since Obama

"The number of federal workers earning $150,000 or more a year has soared tenfold in the past five years and doubled since President Obama took office, a USA TODAY analysis finds.

The fast-growing pay of federal employees has captured the attention of fiscally conservative Republicans who won control of the U.S. House of Representatives in last week's elections. Already, some lawmakers are planning to use the lame-duck session that starts Monday to challenge the president's plan to give a 1.4% across-the-board pay raise to 2.1 million federal workers."

Obama's G20 Stumbles - China Has Dr.'s Orders

"A major irritant in the run-up to the summit has been the Federal Reserve's $600 billion bond-buying spree to revive the U.S. economy, which emerging markets fear will trigger a flood of money into their markets, boosting inflation and asset prices.

Former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan stirred that pot, saying the U.S. central bank's policy was deliberately weakening the dollar.

"The U.S. will never do that," U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner shot back in an interview with CNBC. "We will never seek to weaken our currency as a tool to gain competitive advantage or to grow the economy."

Geithner again criticized China's currency policies, saying the world's second-largest economy risked stoking inflation pressures. China earlier reported that consumer price inflation had hit a 25-month high in October.

Yu Jianhua, an official with China's Ministry of Commerce, said Beijing had no intention to confront the United States over currencies or trade issues.
But, Yu added, Washington "should not politicize the yuan issue, should not blame others for its domestic problems and should not force others to take medicine for its own disease."

Ghetto Blasting at 1628 Dodge

Where the Hell Are The Cops?

The renters at the Morrison Ghetto over on Dodge (1628) this evening were blasting the entire block with that bass banging noise they call music. Someone will probably have to take the landlord to court before it stops since it’s been going on for a year ruining the quality of life for many families living in the immediate area. The worst zone is a square block consisting of the 1300 block of Perkins, the 1600 block of Louisa, the 1600 block of Dodge and most likely the 1300 block of Summer.

What kind of town would let this deafening noise continue unabated ruining the lives of normal residents who don’t appreciate the noise. It’s sickening and just plain ruins the lives of those forced to listen to it.

What is wrong with people that feel they have the right to ruin everyone else’s quality of life? What’s wrong with a town that lets this noise continue everywhere unabated? Everywhere you go in Burlington this trash is blasting the quietness making life miserable for thousands of people day in and day out. Are there not fines for this type of noise?

We need to take our town back from these Brian Tapp SEIRPC people and others who have no common sense when it comes to living like a citizen and blending in with the population while they think whatever they want to do is fine, regardless of our laws.

Pentagon Says ‘Mystery Missile’ Was Probably Airplane - Spell Cover-Up

As you all have heard by now there was a missile launch Monday evening caught by a CBS News crew. The Pentagon BS experts say the contrail was created by an airplane.

Several questions and issues remain unanswered by the Pentagon cover-up statement.

1. The contrail appear to originate from vertical flight and then becomes an angular flight. What type of airplane takes off vertically from the ocean surface?

2. A contrail will not form in 61 degree air. Generally, contrails are formed in temperatures below zero. The surface temperature was 61 degrees F. Assuming the standard adiabatic lapse rate of 3.5 degrees F per 1000' of altitude change the soonest a contrail could possibly form is approximately 8,200' in altitude. You can clearly see the missile contrail is transformed as it traverses different levels of temperature change.

4. Speed. Viewing a missile launch from behind and above the launch site will lend an appearance of slow flight and minimal angular change in flight path. The video confirms this.

5. The MSM media has been handed a video still frame to illustrate the contrail. Normal wind flow will expand and deform the contrail. See the video link above and you will clearly see the contrail is tubular and radiates in a swirl of exhaust from a single, fixed point like a missile nozzle. Airplane contrails are generated in a similar manner but one is generated by each engine. So an airplane would have two or more swirls of exhaust contrails.

3. The most pregnant question is simpler to confirm the Pentagon's story. Given the exact known radar position of the news helicopter, the angle of the sun, the GPS signal from the helicopter's navigation system and the angular references taken from the video you could pinpoint the exact location of the airplane creating the alleged contrail. Since all FAA and NORAD radar signals are recorded, the FAA would be able to pinpoint EXACTLY which airplane made this contrail. Instead, the Pentagon cannot identify the airplane. Keep in mind NORAD can identify a missile launch halfway around the world within seconds of the launch, the type of missile launched, develop the flight path and identify the target zone within several minutes of launch.

The Pentagon has all that information. Why would they choose not to release it?

Simple. Somebody hit the wrong button or someone else hit it deliberately.

Time will tell.

Dr. Strangelove Disappointed

"The first notable thing is Soros’ funding of the Secretary of State Project — which is basically an attempt to elect Secretaries of State around the country willing to impose Democratic-friendly election laws in an attempt to tilt the playing field in their favor on election day."

Besides funding America's version of Radio Moscow, National Proletariat Radio, George Soros is funding vote fraud. The mysterious, maniacal, international financier of one world tyranny did not have a happy election day this year.

Among Dr. Strangelove's defeats, Micheal Mauro in Iowa. Iowa will have a new Sec. of State. Who will purge the dead from the voter rolls?

A huge victory for vote fraud in Iowa was same day voter registration. This was implemented after Senator Courtney and his comrades took total control of Iowa's government four years ago.

Unfortunately, Senator Courtney and his comrades are still the majority in the Iowa Senate. The good thing is not by the number they were. 2012 is coming.

Besides the entire Iowa House, Senator's Courtney and Fraise face the voters in 2012. Removing Southeast Iowa's Laurel and Hardy of the legislature and others so afflicted is essential.

The Old Local Order is Melting

The 2010 election was a local watershed. It goes beyond party label. For the first time in years, no member of the Board of Supervisors will automatically do as instructed by a union boss.

Heland is gone.

Short sighted, unenlightened, petty, greedy vindictiveness has dominated Des Moines County's dominant political party for half a century. Candidates on that ticket in the past have prostrated themselves to lick the boot concealing the gun.

Not so the two Democrats who still remain on the Board to serve with a retired Republican businessman. This avalanche has been building.

For the Republicans, their first County Board member in well over a decade should serve as an inspiration and an example. Broeker won on fiscal responsibility. Roe VS. Wade and burning homosexuals at the stake were not the issues paramount.

If local Republicans pull their head of their womb and get organized, they could take more county seats. They could also take a local state legislative race. Sellmon started late as an unknown and pulled over 40% of the vote against the perpetually re-elected Cohoon. Sellmon should return for a post redistricting rematch.

Des Moines County's worst of the remaining old order is a state wide embarrassment. State Senator Tom Courtney has become vulnerable. A good candidate could take this old picket line parrot out.

For both parties, being free of intimidation inspired by ignorant greed and establishment of a state religion would benefit Des Moines County. Let their efforts be recruitmenting worthy candidates willing to serve the people first while seeking wise counsel.

Two parties providing sound alternatives would be a welcome alarm clock's bell. A half century nightmare maybe ending.

Senator King, the Drunk Mayor, Little Timmy Hoscheck and now Large Mouthed Ass Heland banished from office. Thank you so much for making people aware of what the local state controlled media does not. Put another notch on your keyboard.

Keep up your community service. Good hunting and good luck.

What Happened to The Democrats?

What has happened to the Democrats?

They lie, cheat, steal, whore around, drink and do drugs. Now, before you all go nuts, there are Republicans doing the same things.

But what about the preponderance of the Democratic politicians that lie, cheat and steal to win at any and all cost.

How did the party ideology become driven by these types of people?

Why do they have to lie, cheat and steal to win?

Mike Sweet Planning Vacation to Smoke Pot in California

"The election's not all gloom and doom. Californians get to decide whether to legalize marijuana for recreational use. I hope they do. I'd like to make a trip out there. Strictly for research purposes, of course. I'm thinking there must be a market for a non-smokers culinary guide to pot plantations and a recipe book for the most maligned - and the most versatile - plant God put on Earth (See Genesis. Then think cannabis clothing, bran muffins and ethanol.)"

All I can say is if California legalizes pot and you want to go there, fine, go. Take an airplane. Then after you're doped up stupid from a week in California living large, go crawl back on that airplane and head back to Iowa in a snow storm and while you're munching your "Marin County Super Brownies" you can wonder whether or not the flight crew sat around in a stupor the night before after loading up on a super doobie.

What stupid ass remarks.

Loebsack Admits Defeat

Congressman Declares Hawkeyes Victorious Over Aspen Grove

"In an indication of how the environment for Democrats has changed, Loebsack, who scored an 18-point victory two years ago, said he won’t win this year “unless Johnson County does it again.”

Vote at home. Vote at school. The Nutty Professor has ruled over local absentee ghouls. It follows a pattern.

With his two District Offices 25 miles apart at the extreme end of his District, Dave's disdain for Des Moines County is not surprising. Surprise Dave.

Get out and vote. Turn out in numbers to over come the Nutty Professor's not responding at claimed residence phantoms. Dig Dave's political grave.

Vote for somebody who will not ignore their constituents living south of Interstate 80. Elect the lady.

For The Last Time Jeff, What Happened to The $11 Million Budget Surplus?

Over the last two years we have hammered on one simple question, what happened to the $11 million budget surplus? Everybody in this town is scared to death to confront Heland with this simple question and demand an answer and not his usual jibberish.

Accounts from the court house all point to Heland just standing on the roof of the courthouse and throwing bags of money into the wind. Money was spent so fast there are minimal records to corroborate the expenditures.

But you would expect that from a gambler. They throw money on a table with the hopes that it will return a big win. They usually do that with a hooker on one arm and a drink in the other.

We expect more than a gambler chasing hot checks or chicks. Those seeking financial advice for their life nest egg should expect more. It can hardly make sense to follow the investment advice from someone wildly throwing bags of taxpayer money around like a drunken ex-mayor at the strip clubs across the river.

The taxpayers expect more. On Tuesday we are going to get it one way or the other.

Let's hope it is the good way and not a repeat performance. We can't afford it.

60 Minutes Features Crisis in Newton & Then Blocks Video

Newton, Iowa: Anger in the Heartland

On the Eve of Midterm Elections, CBS Reports on a Town Hit Hard By The Recession

60 Minutes ran a feature Sunday evening about the economic crisis in Newton, Iowa.
If you want to see the report, you can't. CBS has blocked the video. Some would say a computer glitch. It isn't. Any story that CBS does that somehow turns controversial to the Democrats and Socialism is pulled from the internet. I've seen it many times in the last year.

It's real censorship just like Delaney and the crowd on South Main.

Retire Loebsack and Retire Pelosi

"If Democrats lose control of the House of Representatives next week, as most political observers expect, there is a good chance that the House Speaker will opt to spend time with her eight grandchildren rather than toil in the relative obscurity of the minority."

The Madame of the House can always collect her pension and play with the grandchildren. We will all be better off the sooner she does.

Cap and Trade destroying jobs by raising energy taxes under false pretense, socialized medicine the vast majority do not want, wild spending, debt and taxes are a few of the good reasons to retire the Madame. 98% of the time, our Nutty Professor was voting by her side.

For the sake of the Madam's grandchildren and every young American, retire the Speaker and our Nutty Professor. The tax, debt and despair must not be allowed to continue. Send them to the obscurity they have earned while we toil and are taxed to clean up their mess.

Make Dave go away and you make Pelosi go away. Make it happen November 2nd.

Grandpa Unhappy

When Pelosi gets her ass kicked on Tuesday we can all drive up to I-80 and watch her drive herself home each weekend in her '63 Ford Falcon.

After 22 Years, Who Is Cohoon?

I cast my vote for Dave Selmon.

After 22 years (?) I don't even know Cahoon's first name.

I don't know one noteworthy thing he has done for the state or Southeast Iowa.

I never hear his name or read a story where he has been interviewed for doing something we should be proud of or appreciative for.

In fact, I didn't even spell his name right in the sentence above.

That should be enough to make everyone who hasn't voted to make the change we need.

We don't need complacency and we don't need someone in office for 22 years (?) without knowing what they've done with our tax money.

Ad Vertiser's Steve Delaney Makes Loebsack Shill Junior Editor

Falcon reports what we all knew only with proof. The Ad Vertiser's Steve Delaney hired Nick Bergin as a writer for the paper right after Bergin got fired from Loebsack's staff.

If you didn't notice who had been writing the Ad Vertiser's Democrats Into Victory Tuesday March it was Loebsack's fired communications director Bergin.

Now some of you will suggest that if Bergin was fired he would have no love for Loebsack. That would be true if Bergin hadn't had all his brains sucked out and replaced with Jell-O upon his termination.

Mauro - Polk County Machine Product's Slick Switch on Fraud

"Efforts to suppress the vote through onerous requirements, such as unconstitutional photo ID laws, must be opposed."

Vote fraud is a constitutional right. No need to prove you are who you say you are. Vote again and again and again. Iowa's Secretary of State in charge of elections is taking money from those advocating vote fraud by non requirement of I. D.

"Secretary of State Mauro has denied receiving funding from this group, and apparently right after that interview the checks from the SOS group rolled in, and we are not talking small donations either."

Mauro is an old Polk County Party hack who was rewarded with an obscure state wide position. Offices down the ticket have an impact. If you want a fair and honest election system, do not vote for Mauro.
