“As Secretary of State, I support the efforts of other nations to learn more about our election process and ways in which they might improve their own election systems. We welcome the four international visitors to our great state.
However, it was reported yesterday that members of this organization are attempting to gain access to Iowa polling places on Election Day. My office met with two delegation representatives last week to discuss Iowa’s election process and it was explained to them that they are not permitted at the polls. Iowa law is very specific about who is permitted at polling places, and there is no exception for members of this group.”
Iowa Code section 49.104 defines the limited number of individuals permitted at polling places on Election Day, and section 49.105 states that poll workers “shall order the arrest” of any persons violating these provisions.
Any election law violations can be reported to the Iowa Secretary of State’s office by calling the Election Hotline at 1-888-SOS-VOTE."
Right after you call the cops, email us with the photos including the arrest. We do what Tom Courtney has repeatedly failed at, provide oversight to corrupt Democrats.
Norm Sterzenbach, the party’s executive director, said a DCI agent spoke briefly to three workers at the Organizing for America office in Charles City. The party’s attorneys then contacted the agent “and said if you need to talk to ... any of our employees, have those conversations with our attorneys,” Sterzenbach said."
"In a new undercover video sting, James O’Keefe has captured a staffer for Organizing for America, which was established in 2009 to support the Obama Administration’s legislative agenda and is now connected to the Obama campaign, helping an undercover operative get set up to vote twice."
“Secretary of State Schultz should immediately stop using Help America Vote Act funding for this misguided campaign that is only serving to scare qualified voters away from the polls,” Tom Courtney said.
Yes, Senator Courtney, how dare anybody attempt to keep people from voting who are not legally eligible to vote. How dare they prevent anybody from voting for somebody else. How dare they prevent anybody from voting more than once.
Obama Campaign Scrambles to Discredit Romney's 'Jeep' Ad
You Can't Kill The Truth, You Can Only Suppress It Until The Truth Leaks Out and You Are Crushed
"Obama's campaign manager Jim Messina said "everyone" just had to know the ad is false. And the campaign ran a commercial of its own trying to tear down Romney's commercial. Except Romney's commercial is correct.
The New York Times reported Romney's commercial says, “Who will do more for the auto industry? Not Barack Obama.” The commercial continues: “Fact checkers confirm his attacks on Mitt Romney are false. Obama took G.M. and Chrysler into bankruptcy, and sold Chrysler to Italians who are going to build Jeeps in China. Mitt Romney will fight for every American job.”
Department of Labor might delay Friday jobs report until after the election?
Obamaocracy Create The Last Minute Diversion of Real of Issue of Obama's Lack of Character & Incompetence
"The last big economic indicator left to see before the election is the October jobs report, which is due on Friday. Or is it? The Department of Labor suggested this morning that the jobs report might be a little, er … delayed:
The U.S. Labor Department on Monday said it hasn’t made a decision yet on whether to delay Friday’s October jobs report, the final reading on the labor market before next week’s federal elections.
A Labor official said the agency will assess the schedule for all its data releases this week when the “weather emergency” is over.
They’re not alone, either. The Census Bureau may hold off on its scheduled economic reports until next week."
Emails link White House to discussion of Colorado Abound Solar loan guarantee
Obama's Green List Evolves Into Failure List
"The White House was involved in discussions for a $400 million federal loan guarantee awarded to Longmont-based Abound Solar, which later went bankrupt, emails released by a Congressional committee show.
The emails, which were obtained by the Republican staff of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, show White House interest in the loan and allude to pressure to complete the transaction.
"I think of four more years of him, I get Obamitosis, which is a really bad taste in my mouth."
"Obama’s soaring rhetoric enticed me at first, and I agreed that a restoration of the Clinton presidency would be a bad idea. Still, I got a jolt of Messiah Alert when he said his rise marked the moment “when the planet began to heal.”
Where he totally fooled me was his claim to be a pragmatist, not an ideologue. He spoke of uniting the country and I believed he was capable and sincere. That he won 70 million votes and more than two-thirds of the Electoral College spoke to his appeal.
"..there comes an editorial page stance that matters. The Des Moines Register has endorsed Mitt Romney. The Register is not quite the statewide paper that it once was, but it is still clearly the most prominent paper in a state that is closely divided and has 6 critical electoral votes."
Two unarmed U.S. drones were dispatched to the consulate and recorded the final hours of the attack, which killed U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.
“This was in the middle of the business day in Washington, so everybody at the White House, CIA, Pentagon, everybody was watching this go down,” Shaffer said on Fox News’ “Justice with Judge Jeanine.” “According to my sources, yes, [Obama] was one of those in the White House Situation Room in real-time watching this.”
New Explosive Benghazi Allegations: CIA Operators Told to Stand Down' During Attack As 3 Urgent Requests for Military Back-Up Were Denied
Read This and Tell Me Barack Obama is Fit to Lead This Country
"Glen Doherty and Woods, the two former Navy SEALS who were among the four Americans inevitably murdered, allegedly disobeyed orders from superiors to “stand down” in the wake of the attack. Despite being told by higher-ups not to respond, they purportedly decided to go to the main consulate building to help U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and others who were under siege.
...After being told twice to refrain from involvement, Woods, Doherty and two others ignored orders and made their way to the main compound, where violence was raging. At this point, the building was on fire and shots were exchanged, however they took action. FOX News has more:
Woods, Doherty and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the Consulate which at that point was on fire….The quick reaction force from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the Consulate and Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight.
At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied. There were no communications problems at the annex, according those present at the compound. The team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. In fact, at least one member of the team was on the roof of the annex manning a heavy machine gun when mortars were fired at the CIA compound. The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Specter gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.
Joe Biden to Father of Former Navy SEAL Killed in Benghazi: ‘Did Your Son Always Have Balls the Size of Cue Balls?’
"The father of one of the former Navy SEALs killed in the terrorist attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya says President Barack Obama wouldn’t even look him in the eye and Vice President Joe Biden was disrespectful during the ceremony when his son’s body returned to America. He also says the White House’s story on the attack doesn’t pass the smell test.
Putin’s ad is more elaborate. A fortune teller promises a beautiful blonde that she will find the man of her destiny — and it turns out to be Vladimir Putin. “You’ll be happy with him,” the fortune teller says, according to the translation in YouTube’s caption."
"POLICE of Changzhou City in east China's Jiangsu Province recently cracked down on an organized prostitution ring and captured five suspects who allegedly forced minor girls to use eel blood to fake their virginity, Modern Express reported today."
Be slippery as an eel. Vote again and again for Obama, even if you are underage.
You have little to worry about. Senator Courtney is doing his best to underfund the vice squad.
The Des Moines Register did a split page one comparison on Obama and Romney. Obama and Romney did appearances in Iowa on the same day. It was equal time in ink.
The Register's comparison was factual. Its honesty was brutal. It must have Obama fuming. Perhaps the Register was still smarting at Obama's recent request to keep his interview with their staff off the record.
The Des Moines Register staff's history of being sympathetic to Obama does not mean they would be his sycophants. The Register reported the candidates' differences. They drove it home with photographs. The Register did their job.
Obama was not dealing with the Burlington Ad Vertiser.
The Ad Vertiser has a history of assuming the position as ordered by Burlington's local single party system. Drunken, single party connected local partisan and non-partisan office holders had nothing to worry about until alternative media sprang up.
After other sources made them public knowledge, illegal secret sessions of local government were Ad Vertiser denounced. A little ink was rubbed over the wound. Excising the diseased from the body politic was never even hinted at.
The onion of omission has been the Ad Vertiser's gag. It has not mattered how cruel the blows to the community's back side.
If somebody else ever starts an objective, quality, full service local news site on the web they will get my dime.
This comprehensive chart from Demonocracy, a group that specializes in visualizing “usually boring economic data stacked in €100 Euro and $100 Dollar bills,” will tell you everything you need to know about the size and scope of SNAP.
"Nobody decries the use of out-of state special interest money more than the Iowa State Bar Association and supporters of gay marriage do. Yet for years, gay activists from around the country have been contributing to the Iowa Democratic Party and Democrat legislators and candidates in an attempt to further the cause of gay marriage rights."
"He (Sen. Courtney) repeatedly has said he would vote to allow the people to vote on the (marriage) amendment, but he would not buck leadership to bring the bill forward."
"I just don't know why it's so important if two people love each other, they can't be together. I don't understand why anyone would care. It just makes me sad," Courtney said."
Is it for the love of party bosses and out of state, special interest money that Tom Courtney will not let you vote on this constitutional amendment?
So called renewable energy can not compete in the market. For years welfare with tax dollars has kept this state sponsored effort afloat. It makes no sense to taxpayers.
It makes sense to Socialists. To Socialists there is no such thing as being over budget. The problem is a revenue shortfall. Tax cigarettes, soft drinks, and everything else in sight in desperation for more of other people's money.
Letting these spendthrifts keep control of the Iowa Senate makes no sense. Senator Courtney and his compound taxation comrades have held an Iowa Senate majority by a thread. It must end.
Vote five year plan, economic development by welfare, tax and spend Senator Tom Courtney out.
“I don’t think that we are going to have time to be able to get this out to the American people before the election, because the press is of no help,” Beck said. “You need to try to listen and get your friends to listen next door because this isn’t about politics. This truly is about the future of the country because we are in grave, grave danger.”
Beck explained that America has had three major scandals in the White House: Former President Richard Nixon’s Watergate, the Iran-Contra scandal with former President Ronald Reagan and former President Bill Clinton’s sex scandal with Monica Lewinsky.
But in those cases, “as the old catchphrase goes, When Clinton lied, no one died,” Beck said. In Benghazi, four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, were killed in a horrific manner."
"Rather than Clark be this clownish suit that Superman puts on, we're going to really see Clark come into his own in the next few years as far as being a guy who takes to the Internet and to the airwaves and starts speaking an unvarnished truth."
Who will mentor all those interns at the Ad Vertiser? Will Clark teach Jimmy how to work the clutch in the Nash before he leaves?
Will truth, justice and the American way banish Citizen Kane's way as the only way?
The Des Moines Register is a liberal newspaper. Unlike the Burlington Ad Vertiser, the Des Moines Register knows the difference between an editorial and a news story. Like the late, great Burlington Hawk-Eye was, the Des Moines Register remains a respected publication.
Barrack Obama has deliberately avoided his vision for America that Burlington has become. Suppose Obama did come to the shrinking, socialist, single party paradise of Burlington. Would Obama give the Ad Vertiser an on the record interview?
The Register would doubtless ask probing questions Barrack Obama does not wish answer. The Register would not take a hand out from the Obama campaign's press minister, embellish with further praise and call it news. Perhaps that is why Barrack Obama refused to go on the record with the Des Moines Register?
Iowa remains important this late in the campaign only because the election is close. Iowa's few electoral votes could make the difference. Obama's willingness to go on record with a television comedian, but not the Des Moines Register, should raise eyebrows.
What is Barrack Obama so afraid we will find out that he avoids the legitimate press?
Prior to redistricting, Dave Loebsack could and did largely ignore all but the two largest counties in his district. The votes in those two counties were all Loebsack really needed to maintain his position. Those counties contained Loebsack's two district out reach offices. They were in adjoining counties.
Now that redistricting has removed Cedar Rapids from his district, the Nutty Professor is worried. Loebsack's fellow party members are worried as well. As always, Burlington's official house organ of the dominant local political party will rush to Dave's rescue.
All the favorable ink in Burlington can not erase the socialist academician become congressman's arrogant history of ignoring Southeast Iowa. Dave Loebsack deserves to receive in return what he has delivered.
Caught in a Lie--Again: White House Received Claims of Terrorist Role Two Hours After Benghazi Attack
State Department Emails Surface
"Just over two hours after the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi began on Sep. 11, the White House Situation Room was notified that a militant group with connections to al Qaeda had claimed responsibility, undermining claims by the Obama administration and the media that a video was initially the suspected cause.
"The first email, timed at 4:05 p.m. Washington time – or 10:05 p.m. Benghazi time, 20-30 minutes after the attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission allegedly began – carried the subject line “U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi Under Attack” and the notation “SBU”, meaning “Sensitive But Unclassified.”
The text said the State Department’s regional security office had reported that the diplomatic mission in Benghazi was “under attack. Embassy in Tripoli reports approximately 20 armed people fired shots; explosions have been heard as well.”
A second email, headed “Update 1: U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi” and timed 4:54 p.m. Washington time, said that the Embassy in Tripoli had reported that “the firing at the U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi had stopped and the compound had been cleared.” It said a “response team” was at the site attempting to locate missing personnel.
A third email, also marked SBU and sent at 6:07 p.m. Washington time, carried the subject line: “Update 2: Ansar al-Sharia Claims Responsibility for Benghazi Attack.”
The message reported: “Embassy Tripoli reports the group claimed responsibility on Facebook and Twitter and has called for an attack on Embassy Tripoli.”
"Another Iowa biodiesel plant is shutting down, temporarily. Soy Energy LLC in Mason City announced the move Monday, laying off 16 of its 28 workers. The blame is being placed, in part, on the federal biodiesel tax credit that expired back in January."
Another case of can't make it the market without a taxpayer hand out.
Many are even older than 110. In fact, it seems that NC has an awful lot of voters that are 112, too. The Carolina Transparency project did a review of the voter rolls this year and found that there are 631 Democrats who are 112 or older. By contrast, the Republicans can only find 229 over 112 voters in the state (and "unaffiliated" found 39).
And it gets worse. Two voters -- and, yes, they've already voted in early voting -- are over 150! One in Gaston County is 154 and another in Granville County is an astonishing 160!"
GAI, a non-partisan investigative and research watchdog group, announced its findings on Tuesday in a follow-up to their report that detailed how campaigns on both sides of the aisle are vulnerable to illicit foreign and domestic donations. The study found nearly half (47.3%) of the "U.S. Congress have donation websites lacking basic anti-fraud protections that make them vulnerable to foreign and fraudulent online donations."
GAI analyzed Federal Election Commission (FEC) from the 2012 election cycle and found Obama's campaign has accepted $4,580,805.35 in campaign donations that list invalid zip codes—a figure 16 times greater than Romney’s campaign. The study found that Gov. Romney’s 2012 FEC data include $282,814.78 in donations that have invalid zip codes.
The Obama campaign curiously pays more in fees to turn off the "CVV" security feature that requires those donating online to enter the three or four digit number on the back of the credit card. In addition, while the campaign claims use the Address Verification System (AVS) security check, the number of donations with invalid zip codes that the campaign has accepted proves the campaign uses one of the weakest AVS systems online."
Obama ‘Founding Father’ #5 - Harvard Prof. Roberto Unger - A Neo-Marxist Who Sought Cultural Revolution
Another Academic Crazy Fomenting Discourse
"Hailing from the world’s sixth largest economy, the Roscoe Pound Professor of Law at Harvard University has authored over two dozen books on social theory, legal and economic thought, political alternatives and philosophy in the vein of the neo-Marxist Frankfurt School.
Unlike the “father of Communism,” however, Unger believes not in a synchronized mass-nationalization of a country’s means of production, but rather in a world-wide revolution that is achieved subtly and in stages, whereby institutions are “reformed” or replaced one-by-one.
The issue is not homosexual marriage. The issue is this controversial issue not being put before the people.
Speaking out of both sides of his mouth as he does so often, State Senator Courtney says he would vote to let the people vote. However, the boys in the back room will not let him. It is what you should expect from a picket line enforcer who never questioned what he was told to do by the boys in the back room of the union hall.
We deserve better than an ignorant messenger boy for the boys in the back room. Tom Courtney claiming he represents us is an absurd joke. We deserve a new state senator.
Marxist Dictators Agree - Whack Job Hugo Chavez Endorses Obama
"The latest [dictator] to publicly announce his support for the commander-in-chief’s reelection bid was Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez, who this week assured he’d vote for Obama if he were from the United States. The America-bashing strongman made the announcement on state-owned television, saying “Obama is a good guy” and that if Obama was from Caracas, he’d surely return the favor by voting for Chavez."
Obama's Founding Father #4 Edward Said "The ‘Founding Father’ Who May Explain Obama’s Benghazi Errors"
Anti-American “Professor of Terror”
Religion as an instrument of death and terror
“Since the time of Homer every European, in what he could say about the Orient, was a racist, an imperialist, and almost totally ethnocentric.”
“In every country, there are those who find different religious beliefs threatening; in every culture, those who love freedom for themselves must ask themselves how much they are willing to tolerate freedom for others…That is what we saw play out in the last two weeks, as a crude and disgusting video sparked outrage throughout the Muslim world.”
...D’Souza’s indictment of Said himself is a powerful bit of intellectual polemic. However, questions remain – just how much was Obama connected to Said? What did Said actually believe? And how might Said’s views have influenced Obama? These questions, like so many related to Obama’s past, have frustratingly muddled answers. However, the evidence can be laid out without much trouble.
MSNBC Host Calls Out Wasserman-Schultz Over Romney Policy Critique: ‘You Just…Said Two Different Things’
"We have to keep our eye on the ball"
"Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz on Monday was challenged by MSNBC’s Chuck Todd for making seemingly contradictory remarks regarding Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s foreign policy plans (or lack thereof).
“[W]e have to keep our eye on the ball,” Schultz said, referring to the Obama administration’s supposedly even-handed approach to foreign policy. “We have to keep focusing on making sure that we can protect America from those who would do us harm, not the backwoods ‘cowboy justice’ that Mitt Romney would drag us back to.”
“It’s so unclear what Mitt Romney would do differently than President Obama,” she added.
It’s “unclear” what Romney would do differently? Didn’t she just say the GOP candidate would drag us back to “backwoods cowboy justice” (or something)?
Even Todd found her contradictory statements confusing."
Obama & Tom Courtney's Endemic Failures of Incompetent Amateurs Playing with Taxpayer Dollars
"HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) - Workers at LG Chem, a $300 million lithium-ion battery plant heavily funded by taxpayers, tell Target 8 that they have so little work to do that they spend hours playing cards and board games, reading magazines or watching movies."
It is hard to argue with the Obama on this one. It can only go on until the Chinese figure out U. S. Government bonds are becoming Charmin. You can find the same further along a lot closer than Michigan.
Burlington's drunk then Mayor/ former Des Moines County Democrat Party Chairman hailed this project. Subsequently left in haste and disgrace City Manager Bruce Slagle, the trades and labor unions, Hinkle of "Grow" Greater Burlington and all the cabal cheered. It almost never happened.
The Iowa Legislature responded to public outrage over such eminent domain abuse. The Manor Mall was in jeopardy.
State Senator Courtney to the rescue. Burlington's Moscow knows best economic development project was given just enough time to be railroaded through. It took a rider to the bill in the Iowa Senate. Bravo, Senator Courtney.
Low income citizens were thrown out of their homes. The City of Burlington was sunk over $5 million into debt. The private developer with better sense had second thoughts. The developer cut and ran back to Minnesota. Shortly thereafter, so did Bruce Slagle.
An eternal for sale sign marks the scene of the crime. The City of Burlington is paying interest for debt on the empty lot. The City recently went begging to the bankers to meet its payroll. Bridges and other vital City of Burlington infrastructure continue to crumble. More people give up and move elsewhere.
The bulk of the guilty are now gone from public life. Not so State Senator Courtney.
Do you want America to go where Burlington has gone? Do you want Burlington to continue down the road to ruin? The choice is yours
Like Burlington and Des Moines County, Chicago and Cook County have been a single party, socialist enclave for decades. Chicago can not pay its bills. Burlington has taken out notes to meet its payroll.
Liberals will never admit they have a spending disorder. Raise taxes on anything you can possible denounce. Never reign in spending.
State Senator Courtney and his comrades had sole control of the State of Iowa a few years ago. Even though it was drizzling in advance of a rainy day, they went on a spending spree. The budget was soon in trouble.
Iowa's long term tobacco settlement was cashed for less than face value. It was like those J. G. Wentworth ads on cable television advocate. It was smoke and mirrors accounting.
State Senator Courtney raised cigarette taxes and made smokers stand out in the snow. Senator Courtney claimed it was for your health. Senator Courtney will never admit he has a severe case of spending disorder.
In 2010 Iowa voters brought back a proven Governor and cleaned house in the Iowa House. Yes, things were starting improve. Unlike when Senator Courtney's comrades had total control, there was no spending spree. Iowa's budget is now in far better shape.
“We will always put Iowa taxpayers first, and I’m currently reviewing a variety of ways that we can return some of these resources to those who paid them,” the governor (Terry Branstad) said. “I’m committed to ensuring that taxpayers have a seat at the table and that the decisions that are made about what to do with our surplus ensure that those who paid the bills also reap the benefits.”
“I think we’ve been trying to starve state government for too long to where they’re not able to achieve the things that they’re supposed to do,” Dvorsky said in calling for a “moderate, balanced approach” to spending and taxation issues. “We need to proceed cautiously in looking at everything.”
Dvorsky is an Iowa Senate party comrade of Tom Courtney's. The party of tax and spend will shaft you again if you let them. The party of tax and spend currently holds a slim majority in the Iowa Senate. Think before you vote.
Insanity has been defined as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Learn from experience and break the cycle.
Tom Courtney must not be re-elected to the Iowa Senate.
...Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky's campaign, considered safe, despite losing the Chicago Tribune's endorsement last week to Republican challenger Tim Wolfe, and now in a slightly more red 9th district, is also forced to bus her supporters north to Wisconsin, weekly, to stump for the president."
CNN Orders Defense of Candy's Sweet Deal for Obama
"CNN has sent out talking points to its staff, directing them to say that Candy Crowley was merely 'stating a point of fact' about the Libya 'terror' row and insisting that Barack Obama only got more time than Mitt Romney because he speaks slowly."
Just have Mike Sweet moderate the last presidential debate.
Will The Real Communist Please Stand Up? Meet Obama Founding Father #3, Frank Marshall Davis
Obama's Communist Indoctrination
"As TheBlaze continues its series examining President Obama’s “Founding Fathers,” one man stands out above the rest as the president’s earliest, and perhaps for this reason, most influential mentor, the devout Communist, Frank Marshall Davis.
You might recall details about Frank Marshall Davis from TheBlaze’s extensive review of “The Communist,” a scholarly book authored by Dr. Paul Kengor chronicling the controversial figure’s path from oppressed black, to Republican advocate, to a fully-fledged card-carrying member of the Communist Party USA.
In the first presidential debate, Jim Lehrer, no slouch at shilling for the Democratic Party, interrupted Mitt Romney 15 times and Barack Obama only five.
Crowley made Lehrer look like an amateur. She interrupted Obama nine times, (although four of those were when he wouldn’t respect the time limit when discussing assault weapons; he went over his time limit all night long), but when it came to Mitt Romney, she was utterly beyond the pale.
Crowley interrupted Romney 28 times. 28 times. Her desperation to keep Romney from scoring points was so patently obvious that it wasn’t really a surprise when she had her infamous moment: the moment when she interrupted and falsely claimed Romney was incorrect in accusing Obama of refusing to call the Benghazi attack an act of terror."
"HEMPSTEAD, United States, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Barack Obama outperformed his Republican challenger Mitt Romney Tuesday evening at their second debate, pulling almost even their support in the last stretch of this election cycle."
"After the debate, Anderson Cooper was the first member of the CNN post debate group to question whether or not Romney really got the Libya issue wrong. They then brought Crowley on and after all the damage she had done during the debate, she finally admitted that Romney was "right" but "picked the wrong word."
Romney "picked the wrong word!" And for that sin the the referee ran onto the field and tackled the other guy!
This is a scandal; a total and complete media scandal committed by a woman who promised to violate her contract and to insert herself into the debate. All she did for weeks was brag about how she intended to grab the spotlight -- and boy did she ever.
"DES MOINES — State and federal officials have yet to decide whether to launch an investigation into the money Iowa Secretary of State Matt Schultz is using to pay an investigator to uncover cases of voter fraud."
Senator Courtney is upset the voter fraud is being uncovered. Senator Courtney has never before displayed such zeal in his role on the Iowa Senate Oversight Committee. Senator Courtney's zeal for fraud is not shared by state and federal officials who are not rushing to Senator Courtney's side.
A lot fraud went on for far too long on Senator Courtney's watch. The Film Office scandal, the Iowa Association School Boards mess, etc. where was Senator Courtney? Fraud in Iowa has no greater ally than State Senator Courtney.
The blame is not solely Senator Courtney's. We keep re-electing him.
End the crime wave. Send Senator Courtney home for good.
"The short answer is: because he’s got nothing. There is no record to run on, no argument to make for four more years. The ideology that drives him is outdated and bankrupt. He has, in fact, implemented his policies – Republicans have had little means of stopping him – and those policies are the problem."
Thank you for that wonderful History lesson on State Senator Tom Courtney. Those links within were a painful reminder of so much local misery Senator Courtney has had his hand in creating.
With the General Election of 2012 just around the corner, every voter in Senator Courtney's district should be directed to your October 12th posting. Ignorance of our Senator Courtney problem should be no excuse.
With regard to the assault on the Catholic Church, let me make it absolutely clear. No religious institution — Catholic or otherwise, including Catholic social services, Georgetown hospital, Mercy hospital, any hospital — none has to either refer contraception, none has to pay for contraception, none has to be a vehicle to get contraception in any insurance policy they provide. That is a fact. That is a fact.
No, it’s not, and the USCCB harshly condemned Biden for lying. In a statement, they said:
This is not a fact. The HHS mandate contains a narrow, four-part exemption for certain ‘religious employers.’ That exemption was made final in February and does not extend to ‘Catholic social services, Georgetown hospital, Mercy hospital, any hospital,’ or any other religious charity that offers its services to all, regardless of the faith of those served."
The Phone Rang At 3 AM - Months Before September 11
Hillary Rolled Over
"Have Americans had enough yet of Hillary Clinton being placed on a phony pedestal as the political star who would beat any presidential candidate, were she only to agree to run?
...Have Hillary Clinton’s lies about the murders of our ambassador and other diplomats in Libya finally underscored for Americans that this woman is as much a part of government corruption as the corrupt men to whom she attaches herself?
...There is something deviant in this Hillary Clinton, our Secretary of State, a woman who continues to be so attracted to power that she is willing to lie for it and willing to serve as an accomplice to other liars. Yet liberal women hold her up as the standard to be imitated, the role model who supposedly broke through the “glass ceiling.”
It’s time to take this country back to a place where America is at her best again, and American leaders spend their time making America even better, not covering up one deceit after another. Are we finally sick of having sociopaths in power in America?
President's Economic Adviser at Center of Controversy
"After Romney named Big Bird as part of a promise to pull government funding for public television, Obama's campaign released a caustic new ad mocking Romney for thinking the character was a "big, yellow menace to our economy."
The President of the United States has taken offense. Governor Romney has singled out one of the President's inner circle. Governor Romney has heaped ridicule upon a Noble laureate. The target of this undeserved ridicule is one whom the President depends on for critical advice.
Governor Romney, stop ridiculing the President's chief adviser on economic affairs. The buck does not stop at Big Bird.
Huge eyeball from unknown creature washes ashore on Florida beach
Debbie Wasserman Schultz Loses It
"Taking his usual morning stroll along the surf in Pompano Beach, Gino Covacci noticed a strange ball-like object at the high tide line. He kicked it over and found himself staring at the biggest eyeball he had ever seen."
"Whatever the result, About.com has compiled “Bidenisms,” a series of “Dumb Joe Biden Quotes and Gaffes.” Some of the best:
* “Folks, I can tell you I’ve known eight presidents, three of them intimately.”
* “I promise you, the president has a big stick. I promise you.”
* “A man I’m proud to call my friend. A man who will be the next President of the United States—Barack America!”
There were no protests, no benign crowds exploited by local militias, and nothing had anything to do with a video. Our Ambassador, another diplomat, and two Navy SEALs were murdered in a brutally efficient and coordinated terrorist attack.
President Barack Obama was a guest at the 1991 wedding of ABC senior foreign correspondent and vice presidential debate moderator Martha Raddatz, The Daily Caller has learned.
An ABC News talking head is scheduled to be a Vice Presidential debate moderator. It turns out, she has an Obama connection deeper than most in the liberal media. Her new husband, , is the current FCC chairman Genachowski appointed by Obama.
If not ABC's talking head, who should be moderator?
This sounds like a job for Sweet, or Allison of the local Ad Vertiser.
Sesame Workshop is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and we do not endorse candidates or participate in political campaigns. We have approved no campaign ads, and as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be taken down.
Can we talk about the economy now? Four American assassinated by al-Qaeda? The collapse of middle class incomes? The rise in gas prices?
Senator Courtney was advocating a union at General Electric. Would Senator work with Jimmy Olsen to get a union at the Ad Vertiser? Would the great picket line enforcer Senator Courtney stand in solidarity with Jimmy during a walk out and/or strike?
As long as the Advertising Depart stays at their posts, would anybody notice.
The unusual Obama.com website redirects traffic directly to a donation page on the Obama campaign’s official website, my.barackobama.com, which does not require donors to enter their credit card security code (known as the CVV code), thereby increasing the likelihood of foreign or fraudulent donations. The website is managed by a small web development firm, Wicked Global, in Maine. One of Wicked Global’s employees, Greg Dorr, lists on his LinkedIn page his additional employment with Peace Action Maine and Maine Voices for Palestinian Rights. According to the GAI report, 68 percent of all Internet traffic to Obama.com comes from foreign visitors.
And still more.
In 2011, Mr. Roche obtained one of the most sought-after pieces of real estate in Washington, DC: a seat at the head table for President Obama’s State Dinner for Chinese President Hu Jintao. How Roche—a man whose infomercial company hawks fitness equipment, cell phones, and breast enhancement products—landed a seat alongside Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former President Bill Clinton, Sen. John Kerry, former President Jimmy Carter, and Chinese President Hu Jintao remains unclear.
Since 2009, White House Visitor Logs list the name Robert Roche at least 19 times, despite the fact Mr. Roche’s primary residence is in China. "
“It’s been overwhelming and encouraging,” said GAI President Peter Schweizer in an interview with Breitbart News. “Citizens from all perspectives care deeply about protecting the integrity of our election system. We’re humbled and grateful for the tremendous response we’ve received and are eager to begin sifting through the tips and research Americans are sending in.”"
Tom Courtney's Problem With Uncovering Voter Fraud
When Democrats Can't win Fairly - Lie, Cheat & Steal!
"This report reveals the Left’s vote fraud strategy for the 2012 elections. Like a KGB operation, it is thorough, multi-faceted and redundant. It has overt and covert, illegal and legal elements, the latter of which are designed, at least in part, to facilitate illegal activities later. It is a deliberate, premeditated, comprehensive plan to win the 2012 presidential election at all costs, and is in keeping with the organizational methods, associations and ethics of the Community-Organizer-in-Chief, Barack Obama."
Communist Party USA endorsed Barry Husein Obama must be elected by any means has long been their goal. Here in Iowa, State Senator Courtney is running his mouth at a furious pace to protect illegal voters. Senator Courtney is but one functionary in a larger, broader vote fraud effort.
Read the report written last May. Make a comparison to the drivel being issued from Senator Courtney's mouth in defense of ignoring illegal voting.
If you wish to protect your right to vote not be cancelled illegally, vote out Senator Courtney and others like him.
Jack Welch Refuses to Back Down on Unemployment Numbers in Fiery Exchange With Chris Matthews
"Unbelievable jobs numbers, these Chicago guys will do anything, can't debate so change numbers,"
Welch Gets Under Matthews' Skin As He Separates Fact from Obama Fiction
"In a heated debate with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, former General Electric CEO Jack Welch doubled-down on his claim that the Bureau of Labor Statistics survey released Friday, which showed a spike in employment and a drop in the unemployment metric from 8.1 percent to 7.8 percent, is bogus.
..."You don't think it's coincidental that we've had the biggest job surge since 1983? These numbers defy logic."
Question for Obama fans: Do you think it was unfair that he didn't get to use his teleprompter at the debate?
UW Madison Students: 'Unfair' That Obama Couldn't Use Teleprompter in Debate
"Thousands of President Obama supporters turned out in in Madison, Wisc., for a rally following Wednesday night’s debate in Denver. The mood was somber, to say the least, as they waited to enter Bascom Mall at the University of Wisconsin Thursday afternoon. University of Wisconsin students and fellow Wisconsinites had mixed reviews on the president's performance.
I talked to supporters of the president who had watched the debate, asking how they thought the president did. One after the other said they were left unimpressed and “not inspired,” seemingly depressed and lethargic in their continuing support of the president.
More than half the people I asked, who thought the president could have done better, said “it wasn’t fair” that President Obama was not allowed to use his teleprompter in the debate. And while a handful of supporters did say teleprompters had no place in the debate, one thought it was not only unfair to President Obama but both candidates.
How about his “A’ game, Mensa Joe? (Although Romney’s “C” game still would have destroyed Obama.)
Of course, Biden resorted to the old criticism of Romney being a flip-flopper:
"Last night we found out he doesn’t have a $5 trillion tax cut. I guess he outsourced that to China or something, I don’t know, that’s offshored (sic). But it’s hard to figure out what Gov. Romney’s position is on a number of issues. But I think as time goes on, meaning days, it’s going to become pretty clear that Gov. Romney has either changed a number of his positions or didn’t remember some of his positions. I think at the end of the day we have two more debates coming up, or the president does, and I feel very good about it."
Keep whistling in the dark, Joe. You and Obama are toast, and you don’t even know it.
Biden couldn’t help himself; he continued:
"Unlike some others, [Obama] never says one thing one day and another thing the next day, and he never changes position because it may be politically convenient."
Next Week's debate with Paul Ryan should be great TV!
Iowa Bar Association Rates Justice Wiggin's Retention at 63.3%
Justice Wiggins' Retention Should Be Predicated On Judicial Review
Not On Numb Nuts Balloon Bob VanDer Plaats and Satan Steve Scheffler
The Iowa Bar Association is hardly a collection of snake handling, purple kool aid communion religious cultists. Unlike Bob Vander Plaats and Satan Steve Scheffler, the Iowa Bar Association is not "holy" concerned with homosexual marriage as a personal profit center.
Iowa Supreme Court Justices are rated on page 6 of the Iowa Bar Association's Judicial Review. Of the four up for retention, three rated 90% plus. Justice Wiggins rated 63.3% and drew the highest number of respondents to the survey. Justice Wiggins has hardly received a passing grade.
The likes of Bob Vander Plaats and Satan Steve Scheffler want Justice Wiggins gone over a single issue. Iowa voters should ignore the collection plate revival antics of these two. In the process, Vander Plaats and Satan Scheffler are making a martyr out of a mediocrity. Ignore them and look at the whole picture.
Our Nutty Professor congressman has been investing heavily in an economics telecourse. Congressman Loonsack is teaching us John Deere is evil.
John Deere manufactures farm and construction machinery. John Deere does business on a global scale. The Nutty Professor professes that Quad Cities based John Deere should hire people here even if it costs more than hiring them abroad or that the market they serve would be better served by a factory in another country.
The Nutty Professor's xenophobia should be equally applied to all, not just John Deere.
Fiat manufactures farm and construction machinery. Fiat does business on a global scale. Fiat is based in Italy. That Fiat has found it profitable to do business in Burlington is immaterial. Fiat should hire people in Italy, not Burlington, Iowa.
Congressman Loonsack should hold a press event at Cash Street and Des Moines Avenue. With the evil, Italian based Case plant as a back drop, Congressman Loonsack should demand Case go home.
Like Congressman Loonsack, State Senator Courtney likes to threaten business. Senator Courtney vowed to get even with business in 2006 when he took a majority position in the Iowa Senate. Both are willing to impose their business acumen on business from political office.
As a like minded party comrade of Congressman Loonsack, State Senator Courtney should stand by his congressman's side. Case, go home!
As long as we keep electing the likes of Congressman Loonsack and State Senator Courtney, we send a message about doing business in Burlington. Fiat may someday take that message to heart.
If Cedar Rapids does its own version of Burlington's Catfish Craps, it will put the squeeze on Riverside. Riverside already cuts into Catfish Craps. Riverside will scramble to keep revenues up by further cutting into Catfish Craps.
Will the Iowa Gambling Commission give Cedar Rapids a casino?
Market saturation is market saturation. If the Gambling Commission says go, somebody could well go broke. Odds are it will not be Riverside.
Obama Lies to Hampton Crowd Over Stafford Act for New Orleans Relief Money
Obama Voted Against Stafford Act for New Orleans Hurricane Katrina Victims 2 Weeks Before Speech
And Then, In His Southern Dialect, Told Convention It Was Something Else
OBAMA, 2007, VIA DAILY CALLER: “Somehow the people down in New Orleans, they don’t care about as much.”
Tuesday afternoon conservative blogs teased readers with a promised bombshell — Old tape of President Obama giving what critics called a “racially-divisive” speech. Then Tuesday night on Fox News, this:
SEAN HANNITY, FOX NEWS: “It contains some of the most divisive class warfare and racially charged rhetoric ever used by Barack Obama. ... There is a federal law when you get reconstruction money from the federal government, called the Stafford Act.”
Quick context before we go on: That was then-candidate Barack Obama in June of 2007, talking to black clergy at Hampton University in Virginia. There were prepared remarks distributed to the press, but there was a portion of the speech where he told the crowd he was going off-script.
That’s the part about New Orleans and the Stafford Act, where he tells the crowd New York’s local government wasn’t required to match federal emergency assistance funding under the Stafford Act following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Florida post-Hurricane Andrew was also not required to match federal funds.
OBAMA: “What's happening down in New Orleans? Where's your dollar? Where's your Stafford Act money? Makes no sense. Tells me the bullet hasn't been taken out.”
CNS News noted the $93,245,605,914.16 added to the debt on Monday “equaled about $816 for every American household.” And “since median household earns about $138.36 per day over a 365-day year,” the median household would need to give up all of the money it earns for nearly six days to pay off its share of the debt accumulated on the first day of fiscal year 2013."
The consummate actor/politician Ronald Reagan could deliver without a script. Communist Party U S A and State Senator Courtney endorsed Barry Hussein Obama blew it with no teleprompter.. Barry's debate performance was worse than a teen idol singing without a recording studio's reverberation loop.
The liberal media was panicked. The network of Dan Rather (CBS) talking heads scrambled live on air to form damage control comments. CBS ran their focus group results and quickly focused on some other aspect of the debate.
It was all in vain. People witnessed this train wreck. The liberal press grudgingly, almost tearfully acknowledged what had happened.
If the liberal elite propaganda pros could not put the clueless Kenyan back together again, will Ad Vertiser still try?
Gov. Mitt Romney eviscerated a staggering and bewildered President Barack Obama tonight in one of the most lopsided presidential debates in American history. Throughout the debate, which focused on domestic policy, Obama looked shaken, rarely looking at the camera, reciting old talking points and filibustering as Romney gave a master class at the University of Denver.
The debate had been described as a must-win for Romney--and he delivered. Using a rapid-fire style that had not been seen even in the numerous Republican primary debates, he bobbed and weaved through Obama’s attacks and moderator Jim Lehrer’s interjections, launching bullet-point policies that displayed not just a familiarity with the wonkish details but a focus on the travails of ordinary people he had met on the trail.
Again and again, Romney returned to his theme: creating jobs."
Senator Courtney - Working to Assure Illegal Voters They Will Not Be Purged
If Tom Courtney Had Only Worked So Hard to Save Taxpayers Millions in Botched Deals
Millions Lost in Film Office Under Courtney's Watch
"The Democrat chair of the Iowa Senate’s Government Oversight Committee is asking for state and federal audits of Republican Secretary of State Matt Schultz’s use of federal Help America Vote Act (HAVA) funds to pay a state DCI agent to investigate possible voter fraud."
"The http://www.radioiowa.com/2012/09/20/dci-arrests-3-non-citizens-for-illegally-voting-in-pottawattamie-county/ after following up on information from Schultz’s office. Courtney’s news release announcing his action asks Schultz to “end all aspects of his voter purge campaign.”
Help those ineligible voters. They will probably vote for Senator Courtney. A vote for Senator Courtney never comes cheap.
Has anybody audited and added up what Senator Courtney has cost us?
Obama Urges Companies to Break Federal Law for His Reelection
Obama Ignores Federal WARN Act for Virginia Voters
What Is Tom Courtney's Position On Harming Union Workers If IAAP Is Placed in Same Position?
"For the past few weeks, several defense contractors made it clear they would have to send out layoff notices to thousands of workers due to automatic budget cuts set to take effect in January. The cuts are triggered by the debt ceiling "deal" hatched last year. The layoff notices are required under federal law.
More amazingly, the White House promised to pay any fines or penalties that might be leveled against the company for violating federal law. Read that again.
Yes, the White House just told companies to violate federal law and that, if they get in trouble for it, the government, i.e. taxpayers, will cover their fines.
Let's remember, this federal law requiring the lay-off notices, the WARN Act, was passed in 1988 by a veto-proof Democrat Congress. It went into effect without President Reagan's signature. It was an urgent matter for Democrats, until, apparently, they didn't like the consequences of it.
Nothing must interfere with Obama's reelection. Not even federal law."
50. Because he spent all of 2007 and 2008 imploring us to send him to Washington and, now that he has the job, he can’t stop whining about how much he hates it there.
51. Because Nicholas Thompson, the vice president of polling firm The Tarrance Group, while discussing public views of Obama, said that “there’s a lot of people who feel sorry for him.” We should help them out.
52. Because when unemployment hit 10.2 percent, he extolled the economy’s “core strengths.”
53. Because in a fundraising e-mail of September 1, 2011, he demanded that Republicans “take action on” a jobs plan that he had not yet released.
54. Revising his tune on the recovery in December 2011, he said: “It’s going to take more than two years. It’s going to take more than one term. It probably takes more than one president.” We agree with that last part.
55. Because he promised to “ban all earmarks.”
56. But he didn’t ban earmarks.
57. And he promised to go “line by line” through legislation.
58. But of course he didn’t go line by line through legislation, and in the case of Obamacare apparently didn’t go through it at all.
59. “Let me be perfectly clear.”
60. Because corpsmen deserve a president who can pronounce “corpsman.”
61. Because Jay Carney is the least credible press secretary since Dee Dee Myers had to stand there pretending that she didn’t know what she knew about Bill Clinton.
62. Because Americans deserve the opportunity to see which White House pet will ride atop the Romney presidential limousine.
63. So you’ll be able to criticize the president again without being called a racist.
64. Because there are 46 million people on food stamps.
65. And spending on food stamps doubled from $39 billion in 2008 to $81 billion in 2012.
66. For the existence of food-stamp parties.
67. And the proliferation of food-stamp advertisements.
68. Because he launched the most harebrained foreclosure scheme imaginable.
69. And because there were a record 2.8 million foreclosures in 2009.
70. And then a record 2.9 million foreclosures in 2010.
71. Recovery Summer.
72. Recovery Summer II.
73. Recovery Summer III.
74. Because America cannot handle any more Recovery Summer sequels.
75. To affirm that 50 states are enough.
76. Because he values Jon Corzine’s advice.
77. Because he values Joe Biden’s advice.
78. The fact that the stimulus spent $9.38 million to renovate a train depot that has been closed for 30 years.
79. And $762,000 to develop YouTube–like dance software.
80. And invested $2.5 million in dead people.
81. And sent $11 million to Microsoft to build a bridge at its campus.
82. Not to mention millions of stimulus dollars spent advertising the stimulus.
83. And $300,000 to study yoga’s impact on menopause.
84. As well as $30 million to the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies to build a training complex.
85. And $200,000 to help Siberians lobby their legislators.
86. And $700,000 to help crab fishermen to recover their crab pots.
87. And more to get monkeys high on cocaine.
88. For that vice-presidential salute to “the people building smart toasters . . . this is real stuff.”
89. Because the stimulus included an earmark for a Los Angeles–Las Vegas Maglev railway.
90. And there is not going to be a Los Angeles–Las Vegas Maglev railway.
..."multiple U.S. federal government officials have confirmed to the Committee that, prior to the September 11th attack, the U.S. mission in Libya made repeated requests for increased security in Benghazi. The mission in Libya, however, was denied these resources by officials in Washington."
...The letter offers a partial timeline of attacks on western outposts in Tripoli and Benghazi which shows a pattern of targeting western diplomats and outposts. It also suggests the attacks were escalating in their boldness, i.e. late night attacks give way to strikes in broad daylight. What follows is summary of the incidents mentioned in Issa's letter:
* April 6, 2012 - An IED is thrown over the consulate fence in Benghazi.
* April 11, 2012 - A gun battle 4km from the Benghazi consulate.
* April 25, 2012 - A US Embassy guard in Tripoli is detained at a militia checkpoint.
* April 26, 2012 - A fistfight escalates into a gunfight at a Benghazi Medical University and a US Foreign Service Officer in attendance is evacuated.
* April 27, 2012 - Two South African contractors are kidnapped in Benghazi, questioned and released.
* May 1, 2012 - Deputy Commander of the local guard force in Tripoli is carjacked and beaten.
* May 22, 2012 - RPG rounds are fired at the Red Cross outpost in Benghazi.
* June 2012 - A pro-Gaddafi Facebook page posts photos of Ambassador Stevens making his morning run in the city of Tripoli and made a threat toward the Ambassador.
* June 6, 2012 - An IED is left at the gate of the US consulate in Benghazi.
* June 10, 2012 - RPG is fired at the convoy carrying the British Ambassador in broad daylight as he is nearing the British consulate in Benghazi. No one is killed but the British later close the consulate.
* Late June, 2012 - Another attack on the Red Cross outpost in Benghazi, this one in daylight. The Red Cross pulls out leaving the US consulate the last western outpost in the city.
* August 6, 2012 - Attempted carjacking of a vehicle with US diplomatic plates in Tripoli.
* Weeks prior to Sept. 11, 2012 - Libyan guards at the Benghazi consulate are "warned by their family members to quit their jobs" because of rumors of a "impending attack."
"A new study from the Brookings Institution's Tax Policy Center finds that the expiration of the Bush-ear tax cuts at the end of the year will hit Americans with a $500 billion tax hike. While liberal talking points suggest that only the wealthy received a tax cut under Bush, in fact every income group saw their taxes reduced. The rich got "more" tax cuts for the simple reason that they pay more in taxes. The expiration of the Bush tax cuts will hit everybody.
An average middle-class household — making between around $40,000 to $65,000 — would see an almost $2,000 tax hike next year, while those making under $20,000 a year would see their bill rise by an average of just over $400. Both groups would see their after-tax income drop by around four percent.
But households in the top 20 percent of earners would take a $14,000 hit, and those making a half million dollars or more a year — the top one percent of taxpayers — face an average $120,000 increase. That top one percent would see a more than 10 percent hit to their after-tax income."
Now, are you better off today than you were before?
22. Because he listened to the Reverend Wright’s crackpot racist diatribes for years and then gave us a lecture on racism.
23. For ignoring his own deficit commission.
24. Because of an $800 billion stimulus bill.
25. “Shovel-ready” projects.
26. The non-existence of shovel-ready projects.
27. For joking about the non-existence of shovel-ready projects.
28. Because “jobs created or saved” is Enron accounting.
29. Because there were stimulus grants in imaginary ZIP codes.
30. For proposing a $53 billion high-speed-rail project while Amtrak is still losing hundreds of millions of dollars a year.
31. For repeatedly citing the 2007 Minnesota bridge collapse as evidence of the need for expanded infrastructure spending when federal investigators ruled that bad design, not disrepair, caused the collapse.
32. For 613 new federal regulations in the first 33 months of his presidency.
33. And because 129 of those regulations will each cost the economy more than $100 million a year.
34. Because the Small Business Administration estimates the price of current regulations at $1.75 trillion annually — a bigger burden than the corporate income tax.
35. Because his neck must be hurting from keeping his chin up in the air for nearly four years.
36. Because Cass Sunstein boasted about an “unprecedentedly ambitious government-wide review” of regulation that saved only $2 billion per year, or 0.1 percent of the cost of regulatory compliance.
37. “The private sector is doing fine.”
38. Because the private sector isn’t doing fine.
39. Because his administration predicted the stimulus would keep unemployment below 8 percent.
40. February 9, 2009: “If we get things right, then starting next year, we can start seeing some significant improvement” on the employment front.
41. Because now we have a 24 percent unemployment rate for people 16 to 19 years old.
42. Because the lowest the unemployment rate was during the Obama administration was 8.1 percent.
43. Because the current unemployment rate is 8.3 percent.
44. Because 4 million Americans have been out of work for more than a year.
45. Because the black unemployment rate is 14.4 percent.
46. And the Hispanic unemployment rate is 10.3 percent.
47. And because the real unemployment rate — including those who have abandoned the job hunt — is even higher.
48. Because the percentage of working-age Americans who are employed has dropped from 61 percent to 58 percent — and stayed there.
49. Because, in his own words, his “first job is to make sure the economy is growing, that we’re creating jobs out there.” You said it, not us.
1 Million Using Obama Phones in Ohio = 1 Million Obama Votes
"According to the Federal Communications Communication, a program that gives free or subsidized phones to low-income people has doubled in the state of Ohio over the past year, to cover more than 1 million people. The Dayton Daily News reports that the program cost the state of Ohio almost $27 million – just in the first quarter of 2012. That was a more than $11 million increase from the same period the previous year.
Taxpayers are covering this program two ways: direct cash expenditures, and a raise in phone rates via the “Universal Service Fund” charge on phone bills.
